Empathy….

This might seem a little late…..but it has taken reflection and time to not let the overwhelming emotion get in the way of clear thinking. And I’ve had time…..nine years. Nine years of guilt.

Because I was in a flood, in Ladakh in 2015. And I managed to get a lot of people rescued by helicopter. Including me. We had insurance.

And yet. Seeing this happen in Valencia I realise that we do not have insurance against climate change. Climate change is here. Now.

And yet. Every day we see that material possessions and money are our motives. Really ? Are we such magpie thinkers to not see that we are robbing our own nest !? Can we not rethink our motives to secure a future with fresh air and clean rivers. For all.

Maybe I am a hopeless romantic. But I don’t think so. I think I’m just empathetic. And I stand with the people of Valencia to call for change. Everywhere. For all.
